This is a novel with a soundtrack.The opening scene of the first chapter finds Stan softly strumming
guitar, picking carefully picking out chords. When words escape him, he often turns to music.The author has crafted rough versions of those songs, which can be heard on all major streaming platforms.JT Roberts presents a concept album of home-recorded demos that form a companion soundtrack to his novel, Walking With Josie. The songs loosely follow the novel's narrative, capturing its changing moods and themes.Opener ‘Words On A Page’ sets the scene with moody, layered synths, while ‘The College On The Hill’ and ‘The Club With The Neon Glow’ are powered by overdriven guitars, evoking the energy of youthful nights out. In contrast, ‘Once A Rascal’ and ‘Gipsy Woods’ are understated yet atmospheric acoustic pieces, drawing on themes of childhood and coming of age. They share a reflective quality with the piano-led ‘Nos Da’. Closing track ‘The Castle Of The Wind’, with its sweeping synths and recurring piano riff, takes the listener on a cinematic journey over the Welsh mountaintops.
